Years of Study Required

Doctors of podiatric medicine generally have completed four years at an undergraduate school, four years at a medical school specializing in podiatry, and an additional one or two years in residency.

The first two years of medical school concentrate on the general medical curriculum that most physicians are required to complete. The last two years are focused on in-depth curriculum related to the foot and ankle.
